Zach le Roux is the founding member of Audit and Governance Services CC in South Africa. He qualified as:•1992 CIA - Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditors; •2000 CCSA - Certified Control Self Assessor from the Institute of Internal Auditors ; •1987 CA(SA) - Chartered Accountant; •1991 CAIB(SA) - Chartered Associate of the Institute of Banks; •1990 ACMA(UK) - Chartered Management Accountant. Zach‘s experience in auditing and consulting spans more than 30 years. During this timehe facilitated, implemented and managed the change-over of inspectorate departments intomodern internal audit departments, lectured and consulted on corporate governance,management and audit issues, researched and implemented risk-based auditmethodologies and promoted the philosophies of internal audit, control self assessmentand strategic business management. He currently consults and trains internationally in theinternal audit, risk management and corporate governance fields to clients in the publicand private sector. Zach’s career includes:•2 years lecturing at University of Stellenbosch•1 year as CFO of the SA Mint•4 years in Internal Audit of the South African Reserve Bank •1 year as World Bank consultant in the Bank of Ghana•2 years in Deloitte as Corporate Governance expert•15 years as CEO of Audit and Governance Services CCZach is a retired director of the Institute of Internal Auditors in South Africa and past chairman of the IIA conference committee. He is and retired member of the Audit Committee of Statistics SA, and a current member of the Audit Committees of: •South Africa’s National Treasury, •the Cooperative Banks Development Agency,•the Accounting Standards Board and •the Government Pension Administration AgencyZach is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences both locally and internationally. In his free time he plays guitar and enjoys music when it’s dark, wet or cold, and boating, cycling and running when it's not.
